Patch Meets Skunk

Poor Patchy. If you look out the window in this photo, you’ll notice that the morning light is just starting to peek through the night sky. Why, you might ask, is Patch in the kitchen sink looking so wet and forlorn so early in the day? Well, as you might have guessed, Patch met a skunk in the yard this morning! At first, this was very exciting for Patch as there was a lot of barking . Unfortunately, Skunk was clearly more afraid than excited and he promptly sprayed a lot of the stinky stuff all over Patch. It was still pretty dark out so I had no idea what was going on. But it was too early for barking (we’ve got neighbors!) so I called Patch inside and … EEEWWW! Breakfast was going to have to wait! A scrub (actually 3 scrubs!) in the sink had to be the first order of business. And that’s how Patch wound u p in the sink so early in the morning. I wonder, now that Patch knows Skunk hangs out in the yard, what will happen the next time they meet?
